Home / Vacation Church School 2016

Vacation Church School under the leadership of Mrs. Mary Ann Sklaryk began on Monday morning June 13, at precisely 9:30 a.m. and ended on Friday June 17, 2016.  The children were very happy to be gathered together for Christian fellowship, learning, and fun.  Rev. John Nakonachny led the students in prayer and in the songs, God’s Holy Family and Mnohiya Lita (Many Years).  At Noon each day the children were led in closing prayers and hymns.

The children had two class sessions of 25 minutes each where they learned about “Women in the Bible” and Church Holy Days. Each day the children made crafts, had a snack, and learned bible songs and hymns.

On Friday the children learned about the Holodomor and  said prayers for the souls of the artificial famine victims.  The children performed some of their songs for their parents and families, received certificates of participation in the VCS, and had a pizza party before being dismissed.  It was a fun and educational week for students and for their teachers.
